Following his great accomplishments at Utah, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Florida vied for his services. He led the team to victory at the Skyline Conference championship as well as Fiesta Bowl in 2005. After spending two seasons at Bowling Green, Meyer took up another coaching job with Utah Utes football in 2003. Urban Meyer got his breakthrough in 2001 when he became the Bowling Green Falcons football team’s head coach. Later on, he spent thirteen years as an assistant coach for Illinois State football team, five years at Notre Dame, and three years at Colorado State. After that, he went on to land his first collegiate coaching position as a graduate assistant, coaching tight ends at Ohio State.
